"Water's Edge" will be Harlan's first in South Jersey, which is the perfect backdrop to his bright and bold coastal artwork.
Harlan's love of the coast and water comes from his childhood. From grade school Harlan lived in Florida. Living on the water and boating sparked his interest in the differences of sunsets and harbors. This passion for the sea has acted as a never ending source of inspiration for his work to this day.
Each piece is first "visioned" and shaped in Stephen Harlan's mind. The groundbreaking art is then created with an eye for "color and contrast" with breathtaking results. However, this was not always Harlan's plan. He began his artistic journey by mistake. While learning how to work a new computer software at work, he created a guitar for fun and sent it to the company. They offered Harlan the software if he would create promotion images for them, and an artist was born.
Guests can meet Stephen Harlan at gallery receptions taking place Friday and Saturday from 7-10pm and Sunday from 1-4pm.
